Kuch Kuch Hota Hai- Our Fav RomCom Turns 20!

Let the celebrations begin!

Its been two whole decades, 20 years to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai! But Rahul and Anjali still rule hearts.

The directorial debut of Karan Johar, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai raised the benchmark for a typical Bollywood commercial potboiler.

The film had a good story, a stellar cast, great music, and enough entertainment to make the audience forget the world outside the theatre. Two decades later, the actors still speak fondly about the film and feel glad to have been a part of the hit film.

Celebrating The Era of ‘Tum Nahi Samjhoge Rahul’!

On Tuesday, Karan Johar organized a special interactive event to celebrate 20 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which was his first film as director.

Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherji were joined by the rest of the Dharma family, including Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Kareena Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Bachchan, Neha Dhupia, and Sidharth Malhotra.

Karan also invited his close friends Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Twinkle Khanna to the event. Salman Khan, who had a special appearance in the 1998 film, and Alia Bhatt addressed the gathering via their respective video messages.

In a video, Karan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji thanked each and every person who contributed towards the making of the 1998 blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Shweta Bachchan was seen remembering Karan Johar’s father Yash Johar.

While Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor recreated the iconic Rahul-Anjali moment, Alia Bhatt, who was not present at the bash, shared a sweet video message.

Alia was 6 when Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released. In the video, she mentioned about Kajol’s hairstyle and the hair band which became famous among all school going girls after the film released.

Did you know Twinkle Khanna was offered the role which Rani did finally?

At the event, Twinkle shared her story of saying no to Karan Johar’s film.

Though most of the people who were present there, shared their best memory with the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Salman Khan couldn’t be there and therefore he sent a video message where he congratulates the filmmaker and the cast of the film adding,” hope he (Karan Johar) works with me in future.”
